Yasmin Group is established on the foundation of ensuring sustainable growth within the pillars of
family values, business diversity, reliability, efficiency and quality. Founded on the 4th of April in
1980, this homegrown conglomerate has grown from strength to strength over the years since its
humble beginnings in Alor Setar as Yasmin Enterprise, a trading company named after the founder, Tan Sri Rahmat Abu Bakar’s beloved wife and steadfast partner.
Our Founder
In Yasmin Group, family values such as trust, loyalty and respect are very important. Our founder, Tan Sri Rahmat Abu Bakar, who is still very much involved in the business as a mentor, has made it his hallmark to treat his employees and clients alike as family members. This philosophy, in turn, has led to the Group’s long lasting business relationships built on foundations of mutual trust,dependability, and friendship.
During the Asian financial crisis in 1997 which left companies across Asia reeling, Yasmin Group remained resolute in keeping all its employees, where not even one was retrenched during this difficult time. It was one of the proudest moments in the Group’s long and successful history, and reinforced Tan Sri Rahmat Abu Bakar’s commitment to his employees as a judicious and fair leader.
