Yasmin Group is established on the foundation of ensuring sustainable growth within the pillars of family values, business diversity, reliability, efficiency and quality. Founded on the 4th of April in 1980, this homegrown conglomerate has grown from strength to strength over the years since its humble beginnings in Alor Setar as Yasmin Enterprise, a trading company named after the founder, Tan Sri Rahmat Abu Bakar’s beloved wife and steadfast partner.

By seizing opportunities in niche markets and investing prudently, Yasmin Enterprise managed to branch out into various new businesses and achieved astounding growth rates in line with the newly industrialised Malaysia in the 1990s while upholding trust and respect in all its business dealings.

When Malaysia commenced its national car project in 1983, Tan Sri Rahmat Abu Bakar saw the potential to be part of this ground-breaking initiative. The firm’s involvement with Proton Holdings has lasted over 20 years through Yasmin Jurumuda Sdn Bhd (previously known as Jurumuda Sdn Bhd), Malaysia’s premier rustproofing.

By branching out and establishing new businesses, Yasmin Enterprise soon grew to become Yasmin Holdings before forming Yasmin Group in Kuala Lumpur. Today, Yasmin Group and its subsidiary companies have become a successful, multi-million-dollar conglomerate with a record annual turnover of RM228 million (USD71 million) that has set its sights on becoming a prominent international business entity.

SHARIAH COMPLIANCE
Yasmin Group has recently appointed Ustaz Ramadhan as the Chairman to the Shariah Advisory Committee. All subsidiary companies are required to observe strict Shariah-compliance rules stipulated under the Guidelines issued by the Committee. The Group also ensures property tenants only conduct permissible activities in accordance with the Shariah.
